Kaslo Search and Rescue
To provide search & rescue services in the North Kootenay Lake region.
Some members have been putting in a lot of extra training hours outside of regular training, prepping for their upcoming Rope Rescue Technician 1 and 2 Courses. We appreciate their dedication, giving up beautiful evenings like this!
We were all about the boat for last night's training. Reviewing some basics and making sure Platypus is well cared for 🤩
It was an early start for the team as we responded to evacuate a camper with a medical emergency from a hike in site. We were able to access the site via boat and transport the subject to a waiting ambulance. Thanks team!
KSAR along with it's canine team assisted Central Okanagan SAR for 3 days last weekend in searching for a lost person. Many other SAR and canine teams also traveled distances to assist with the search. The weather was cold and wet, the terrain was challenging and everyone worked hard in their team assignments. It was nice to see the team work among so many groups. Unfortunately, despite everyone's best efforts, the person was not found. This weekend groups will back out searching again.
