Kaslo Search and Rescue
To provide search & rescue services in the North Kootenay Lake region.
This week's training focused on tracking, as the team successfully worked through several scenarios. Our search dog showed us just how effective her nose is, as she impressed us all with her tracking and airscenting skills. We looking forward to building on this training next week – what will we get up to?

The team is doing our annual hover exit training up near the airport today – don't be alarmed if you hear a bit more helicopter traffic than usual! 😎
This week's team training saw members combining search (dog), vehicle extrication, rope rescue, medical and leadership/management skills to complete a vehicle over the embankment scenario with two patients. One patient was successfully extricated from the vehicle and brought up the embankment and a second patient was quickly found nearby by our search dog, Kibou. Excellent teamwork!

Even during training, it’s important to take a moment to recharge — and these two fluffy visitors did just that. One of our members brought along their bunnies for some cuddle time, and safe to say… morale got a serious boost.![]()
