Several members of our team embarked on a reconnaissance of the route into the Lost Ledge cabin. We tested radio communications and gathered information for a preplan should a rescue be required in that area some day. We put our ATV's with tracks to use carrying snowshoes and pulling 2 members on skiis to the staging area high above Kootenay Lake. Two of our members were able to assist with their personal sleds. It was a beautiful sunny day which was particularly thrilling for the photographers in our group! See MoreSee Less

It was a cold and wet day on Saturday for our annual helicopter hover exit certification. Our canine team had fun with Kibou even helping herself to get up onto the Heli skids. We were thankful to have our command trailer there to shelter from the rain under the awning and warm up inside! This year we also practiced removing helicopter seats and loading a patient on a vac mat stretcher. See MoreSee Less

It was a busy day for the team yesterday. Not long after the boat callout we were tasked to conduct a body recovery. The team put all their hours of rope training to good use to efficiently bring the body up a steep 60 meter embankment. See MoreSee Less
