Kaslo Search and Rescue is raising funds to build a new operations facility that will strengthen rescue readiness for the North Kootenay Lake region.
Our current space is no longer large enough to safely store specialized equipment, train members, and coordinate emergency response. As KSAR has grown, so has the amount of gear, vehicles, and specialty team capacity required to serve our community.
This new building will give volunteers the space and infrastructure needed to respond quickly, safely, and effectively — now and into the future.
Why We Need a New Building
When someone is missing, injured, or in distress, every minute counts. To respond efficiently, KSAR needs a facility that can support:
- Secure, organized storage for specialized rescue equipment
- Heated vehicle and gear space for year-round readiness
- Indoor training and coordination space
- Safer workflows for volunteers preparing for deployment
This project is about more than a building — it’s about maintaining and improving emergency response capacity for our community.
